Fola Komolafe

Fola Komolafe is an Architect, strategy consultant, business leader and social entrepreneur who has worked for many years with large multinationals in the private, public and voluntary sector. Her multiple award-winning public-sector projects impacting millions of children, women and girls in the areas of education and health across 14 countries in Africa and South Asia led to her being awarded an honorary degree by the Open University. Fola was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant for Buckinghamshire in 2015 and in June 2016 she was awarded an MBE for services to business and community.

Fola has been Chair and Director of Milton Keynes Food Bank since 2008

Fola is Director of ‘For MK’, a project of Milton Keynes Christian Centre which has invested over £100K in more than 30 organisations in the local voluntary sector and mobilised over 50 volunteers into the sector through the Volunteers Expo thereby enabling and supporting the important and necessary work undertaken by these organisations.

Fola was appointed to be the President of Milton Keynes Community Foundation in February 2022 following a long period of service on the board (12 years of which she was chair for 3 years) and three years as a Vice President.

Fola co-founded Fresh Youth MK, a charitable organisation that collaborates with schools, agencies, businesses, community groups and voluntary organisations to support young people (14 to 25) who may be struggling socially and emotionally or experiencing disadvantage. Fola was asked to sit on the scrutiny panel for the recent TVP National Race Action Plan which

sets out changes across policing to improve outcomes for Black people who work within or interact with policing.

 

Fola is the Community Lead and a Founding Member of the Milton Keynes Ethnic Business Community, an organisation set up to continually connect businesses and professionals of MK BAME community by providing a platform for networking to help the members to share their knowledge, expand the network and maximize their success in the wider business sector.​ She is Vice President with British Red Cross and a member of the panel for MK Rose. Fola is a mentor to many women and girls, as well as an advisor to many voluntary organisations across Milton Keynes.
